I don't know what show this is from or even what country they're performing in (though I'd guess America; British telly generally wasn't filmed in colour back then except for specials ~ pop was considered ephemera and the BBC famously had little or no sense of preserving taped performances for future generations. Their archives were seriously disorganized. Entire series featuring top stars of the day were wiped (e.g. Ronnie Barker did entire series which were wiped: The Navy Lark on radio and His Lordship Entertains on television (a single episode was recovered and broadcast in 2009)... I REMEMBER THIS TUNE FROM 1991-2 when the style of music would have been called hardcore (rave).
Nowadays it's known as "old school" - which doesn't half make ME feel OLD...
If you want a bit of old rave music listen to this, it has all the gimmicks. Electronic voice telling you to "just close your eyes, forget your name, forget the world, forget the people... go insane"
And that slightly depressing vibe that fills a lot of electronica of the time.

I WANTED TO POST SOMETHING with a nuclear theme... this is one of several videos of the time (1984) that showed the supposed prequel to a nuclear attack: people running in panic, snogging, etc

I'm no nuclear expert but the video makers have confused two things: a reactor meltdown (like Tschernobyl) doesn't "explode" but releases Hiroshima amounts of radiation from the radioactive fire... a nuclear explosion comes only from a carefully constructed bomb (even then: e.g. North Korea the smallest miscalculation results in a massive drop in "yield")...

I'm posting this for someone special because they say this song reminds them of me(!) And not a pun from the title, either.

Also I'm pretty SURE I used to go to 24-hour parties called The Warp at that club that's in that rail-tunnel. It's near Waterloo station, just round the corner from the London Dungeon, the capacity crowd is over 3000 and the club is huge!

The second scene shows a road sign mentioning King's Cross. This has long been a place of open despair: well known for easy prostitution and the overt sale and use of hard drugs and a mainline rail station where I actually have seen the proverbial lost-looking teenager with a packed-up bag and seemingly nowhere to go and of course I did nothing (what could I do?) but thought "what on earth are you doing here..??"... and wondered, if they did stay, how long the shadows of the place would take to get at them...

The sample "wooo-eeeeeee-ooo-aah: we live as one family" is actually sung by a man (but speeded up) from the old garage track: "war and drugs are everywhere ~ and it's getting so hard to breathe the air... now-eeee-aaarr-oooaaah-yeah-wooo-eeee-ooo-roooar-oorooar-yeah, we live as one famileee..." I tried Googling the lyric but got no satisfactory answer... it is not M People's Someday, it far predates that... if anybody has an answer, please leave a comment
